Viera Children's Academy or VCA is a leading preschool and early education center in Brevard County. Since opening in 2006 Viera Children’s Academy has grown along with the Viera community. The original main building accommodates infants and preschool age children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. A new building was built in 2018 to house children entering VPK or Florida's Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program. VPK is a free educational program preparing 4-year-olds for kindergarten and the grades beyond in our education system.
We have an excellent child-to-staff ratio and welcome Parents as Partners to promote interaction in their child’s education. We invite parents to chaperone field trips, to share hobbies, or to read to the children during our Thursday afternoon story hour.
At VCA your child will receive an early education focusing on a well-rounded, age-appropriate curriculum that offers exposure to shapes, colors, numbers, letters, reading, Spanish as a foreign language and American Sign Language (ASL) .
Your family will have peace of mind knowing your child will experience excellent care whether they are enrolled full time, part time, or in the VPK program. We partner with families, the Viera community and Brevard County for programs that enhance early childhood development. All VCA teachers are qualified and hold the required early childhood education degree and certifications in First Aid, CPR, and the 45 hours of early childhood training. We are an NECPA accredited preschool and our teachers are also trained in the HighScope® "active participatory approach" that emphasizes direct engagement with objects and ideas through hands-on experiences.
You can find our monthly VCA Calendar and quarterly VCA Newsletter below to view or download. Classrooms will have their own Newsletters or Homework schedules posted on the Programs page. We encourage you to call and schedule a tour of our school so you can make the right decision for your child's education and care.
